Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Charles Green Shaw was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in December 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 60,480.00 (€ 49,452.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Green Shaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Plastic Polygon in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 555,000.00 (€ 497,802.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Charles Green Shaw wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 60.480,00 (€ 49.452,17) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Green Shaw erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Plastic Polygon im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 555.000,00 (€ 497.802,49).
