Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles Green Shaw could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Untitled (Portrait) changed hands for USD 13,860.00 (€ 11,827.96) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Green Shaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Plastic Polygon in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 555,000.00 (€ 497,802.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles Green Shaw konnte im September 2020 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (Portrait) für USD 13.860,00 (€ 11.827,96) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Green Shaw erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Plastic Polygon im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 555.000,00 (€ 497.802,49).
