Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Four Ringed Plovers by Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,785.00 (€ 2,131.61), 19% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Magnani Modena Pigeon (illustrated); Two Starling Pigeons (one illustrated); A Swabian or Starling Pigeon; and A Swabian Pigeon in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 13,145.00 (€ 19,563.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Four Ringed Plovers von Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.785,00 (€ 2.131,61) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Magnani Modena Pigeon (illustrated); Two Starling Pigeons (one illustrated); A Swabian or Starling Pigeon; and A Swabian Pigeon im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.145,00 (€ 19.563,70).
