Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles Craig could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in April 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Indian Encampment changed hands for USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,441.95) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Craig have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Meeting on the Mesa in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 21,150.00 (€ 22,673.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles Craig konnte im April 2017 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit Indian Encampment für USD 3.750,00 (€ 3.441,95) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Craig auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Meeting on the Mesa im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 21.150,00 (€ 22.673,67).
