Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 25,200.00 (€ 29,400.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Brooking - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Men-O'-War Reefed-Down And Riding Out A Gale, which sold at auction in June 2014 for GBP 68,500.00 (€ 85,587.47).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 25.200,00 (€ 29.400,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
