In the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction, the work Dutch Fishing Kaags By A Shore, With A Man Of War Saluting sold for GBP 22,500.00 (€ 28,379.57) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Brooking - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Men-O'-War Reefed-Down And Riding Out A Gale, which sold at auction in June 2014 for GBP 68,500.00 (€ 85,587.47).
