In the Of Royal and Noble Descent auction, the work A Flagship Shortening Sail In A Gale sold for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,990.55) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Brooking have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Men-O'-War Reefed-Down And Riding Out A Gale in June 2014 with an auction result of GBP 68,500.00 (€ 85,587.47).
