Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Cesare Dell'Acqua could be acquired at Christies in London in September 2001 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings auction, the work A Classical figure fishing beside a pool in an ornate garden changed hands for GBP 646.25 (€ 1,043.42) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 700.00 – 900.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cesare Dell'Acqua achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Italianan Ottoman Beauty in April 2018 with an auction result of GBP 405,000.00 (€ 461,251.86).
