Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Italian Two Sketch Books by Cesare Dell'Acqua was sold in the British and Continental Pictures auction at Sothebys in London in March 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,207.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cesare Dell'Acqua achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Italianan Ottoman Beauty in April 2018 with an auction result of GBP 405,000.00 (€ 461,251.86).
