Artwork auctioned at 11 times the upper estimate price
The work Sailing in the Gorge by Cen Xuegong was worth HKD 94,500.00 (€ 10,878.62) to a buyer in March last year. This price was achieved in the auction Dawn of Spring: Chinese Paintings Online at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 8,500.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Cen Xuegong; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Misty Sunset sold at auction in December 2015 with the realized price of HKD 150,000.00 (€ 17,819.32).
Kunstwerk zum Elffachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Die Arbeit Sailing in the Gorge von Cen Xuegong war einem Käufer im März letzten Jahres HKD 94.500,00 (€ 10.878,62) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Dawn of Spring: Chinese Paintings Online bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 8.500,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Cen Xuegong; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Misty Sunset im Dezember 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 150.000,00 (€ 17.819,32).
