Despite a disappointment, a good price for Cecil Hardy
This work of art by Cecil Hardy could be acquired at Christies in Sydney in August 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction, the work Colour Column changed hands for AUD 117.50 (€ 69.41) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 200.00 – 300.00. Despite this disappointing result, Colour Column is the most expensive artwork by Cecil Hardy that we have observed at auction so far.
