Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Cecil Hardy could be acquired at Christies in Sydney in August 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction, the work Cantle Structure Divided changed hands for AUD 58.75 (€ 34.71) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 200.00 – 300.00. Other works by Cecil Hardy have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in August 2003 by the work Colour Column at AUD 117.50 (€ 69.41).
