Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Catherine Lee could be acquired at Christies in New York in July 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the THE HOUSE SALE auction, the work Radiate changed hands for USD 1,680.00 (€ 1,385.11) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Catherine Lee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Listening Warrior" in November 2016 with an auction result of EUR 14,131.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Catherine Lee konnte im Juli 2005 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion THE HOUSE SALE wechselte die Arbeit Radiate für USD 1.680,00 (€ 1.385,11) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Catherine Lee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Listening Warrior" im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 14.131,00.
