Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Balloon by Carter Mull was auctioned at Phillips in an online auction in December 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,063.00 (€ 946.82). Admittedly, works by Carter Mull have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vista in September 2014 with an auction result of USD 9,375.00 (€ 7,423.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Balloon von Carter Mull im Dezember 2019 bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.063,00 (€ 946,82) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carter Mull auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vista im September 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.375,00 (€ 7.423,98).
