In April 2019 Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work High Yella Girl from Colored People by Carrie Mae Weems. The »bidding war« ended at USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,638.87), 43% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Carrie Mae Weems have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kitchen Table Series in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 237,500.00 (€ 215,536.80).

Im April 2019 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit High Yella Girl from Colored People von Carrie Mae Weems zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 44.638,87) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carrie Mae Weems auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Kitchen Table Series im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 237.500,00 (€ 215.536,80).
