In October last year Bonhams in London held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Dividing Lines by Caroline Walker. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 12,112.50 (€ 14,110.93), 73% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Caroline Walker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Threshold in March this year with an auction result of GBP 927,100.00 (€ 1,054,755.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 73 % übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dividing Lines von Caroline Walker zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 12.112,50 (€ 14.110,93) und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Caroline Walker erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Threshold im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 927.100,00 (€ 1.054.755,33).
