In January 2014 Christies in New York held the auction Renaissance, which included the work The Madonna Teaching The Christ Child To Read by Carlo Portelli. The result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 74,074.07) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carlo Portelli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Holy Family with the Infant Saint John the Baptist, which sold at auction in July 2000 for GBP 108,250.00 (€ 175,038.82).
