In December 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fabrizio Moretti x Fabrizio Moretti | In Passing, which included the work Madonna And Child With The Infant Saint John The Baptist by Carlo Portelli. It changed hands for a price of USD 56,250.00 (€ 50,102.43) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carlo Portelli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Holy Family with the Infant Saint John the Baptist, which sold at auction in July 2000 for GBP 108,250.00 (€ 175,038.82).
