Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Carlo Innocenzo Carlone could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters Day Sale auction, the work The Lamentation changed hands for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 13,948.08) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carlo Innocenzo Carlone - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A bozzetto for a ceiling: Merit crowned by Nobility, which sold at auction in September 2005 for USD 54,000.00 (€ 44,783.55).
