Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Bacchus seated in clouds with putti by Carlo Innocenzo Carlone for USD 3,528.00 (€ 2,907.29). This price was achieved in the auction From Taddeo to Tiepolo: The Dr. John O’Brien Collection of Old Master Drawings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carlo Innocenzo Carlone achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A bozzetto for a ceiling: Merit crowned by Nobility in September 2005 with an auction result of USD 54,000.00 (€ 44,783.55).
