Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction From Taddeo to Tiepolo: The Dr. John O’Brien Collection of Old Master Drawings, which included the work Recto: St. Sebastian with a vision of the Madonna and Child Verso: An Architectural Sketch by Carlo Innocenzo Carlone. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,410.00 (€ 3,634.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carlo Innocenzo Carlone achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A bozzetto for a ceiling: Merit crowned by Nobility in September 2005 with an auction result of USD 54,000.00 (€ 44,783.55).

Im Januar 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion From Taddeo to Tiepolo: The Dr. John O’Brien Collection of Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Recto: St. Sebastian with a vision of the Madonna and Child Verso: An Architectural Sketch von Carlo Innocenzo Carlone zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.410,00 (€ 3.634,12) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carlo Innocenzo Carlone erzielen.
