Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Apotheosis Of A Hero by Carlo Innocenzo Carlone was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2011. The price achieved of USD 28,125.00 (€ 19,365.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carlo Innocenzo Carlone - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A bozzetto for a ceiling: Merit crowned by Nobility, which sold at auction in September 2005 for USD 54,000.00 (€ 44,783.55).
