This artwork by Carlo Cignani achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2005. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work Flora sold for USD 57,600.00 (€ 46,643.45) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Carlo Cignani have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Allegory of the Five Senses in January last year with an auction result of USD 327,600.00 (€ 292,186.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Carlo Cignani erzielte im Mai 2005 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings wurde die Arbeit Flora für USD 57.600,00 (€ 46.643,45) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carlo Cignani auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Allegory of the Five Senses im Januar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 327.600,00 (€ 292.186,94).
