Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Cattle grazing in a wooded landscape by Carleton Wiggins was sold in the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL DRAWINGS AND WATERCOLOURS AND ILLUST auction at Christies in London in December 2001. The price achieved of GBP 446.50 (€ 729.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Admittedly, works by Carleton Wiggins have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Evening Row, Long Island in February this year with an auction result of USD 5,100.00 (€ 4,810.41).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 446,50 (€ 729,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carleton Wiggins auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Evening Row, Long Island im Februar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.100,00 (€ 4.810,41).
