This artwork by Carleton Wiggins achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February 2007. In the The House Sale auction, the work Cattle grazing sold for USD 5,400.00 (€ 4,081.63) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Carleton Wiggins; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Evening Row, Long Island sold at auction in February this year with the realized price of USD 5,100.00 (€ 4,810.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 80 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Carleton Wiggins erzielte im Februar 2007 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The House Sale wurde die Arbeit Cattle grazing für USD 5.400,00 (€ 4.081,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Carleton Wiggins; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Evening Row, Long Island im Februar diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 5.100,00 (€ 4.810,41).
