Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Allegory Of Painting by Carle van Loo was sold in the Master Paintings & 19th Century European Art auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 40,389.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Carle van Loo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Venus requesting Vulcan to make arms for Aeneas in January 2000 with an auction result of USD 277,500.00 (€ 284,411.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Allegory Of Painting von Carle van Loo wurde im Januar 2016 in der Auktion Master Paintings & 19th Century European Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 40.389,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carle van Loo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Venus requesting Vulcan to make arms for Aeneas im Januar 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 277.500,00 (€ 284.411,19).
