Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Venus And Cupid by Carle van Loo was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2007. The price achieved of USD 72,000.00 (€ 55,393.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Carle van Loo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Venus requesting Vulcan to make arms for Aeneas in January 2000 with an auction result of USD 277,500.00 (€ 284,411.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Venus And Cupid von Carle van Loo kam im Januar 2007 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 72.000,00 (€ 55.393,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carle van Loo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Venus requesting Vulcan to make arms for Aeneas im Januar 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 277.500,00 (€ 284.411,19).
