Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of a gentleman traditionally identified as 1st Viscount Bateman, half-length, in a brown coat with the breast star and red sash of the Order of the Bath, a tricorn hat under his left arm, standing before a draped curtain by Carle van Loo for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,738.25). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & 19th Century Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 s Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carle van Loo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venus requesting Vulcan to make arms for Aeneas in January 2000 with an auction result of USD 277,500.00 (€ 284,411.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman traditionally identified as 1st Viscount Bateman, half-length, in a brown coat with the breast star and red sash of the Order of the Bath, a tricorn hat under his left arm, standing before a draped curtain von Carle van Loo für GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.738,25) erwerben.
