Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Head of a Lady by Carle van Loo was sold in the THE HOUSE SALE auction at Christies in New York in February 2003. The price achieved of USD 8,365.00 (€ 7,760.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carle van Loo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venus requesting Vulcan to make arms for Aeneas in January 2000 with an auction result of USD 277,500.00 (€ 284,411.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Head of a Lady von Carle van Loo wurde im Februar 2003 in der Auktion THE HOUSE SALE bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.365,00 (€ 7.760,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carle van Loo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Venus requesting Vulcan to make arms for Aeneas im Januar 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 277.500,00 (€ 284.411,19).
