It achieved a price of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 4,407.38), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Admittedly, works by Carl Zewy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A good story in April 2000 with an auction result of GBP 15,275.00 (€ 26,150.18).

Die Arbeit The Young Rabbi von Carl Zewy wurde im November 2005 in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 4.407,38) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carl Zewy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A good story im April 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.275,00 (€ 26.150,18).
