Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Above the Timberline by Carl Rungius was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2008. The result of USD 1,000.00 (€ 710.18) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carl Rungius achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alaskan Brown Bear-Out of the Shadows in December 2002 with an auction result of USD 581,500.00 (€ 554,601.81).
