This artwork by Carl Robert Holty achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2012. In the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture Including the Collection of Dr. Mark and Irene Kauffman auction, the work Out of the Sea sold for USD 5,250.00 (€ 3,937.30) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carl Robert Holty achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in July 2021 with an auction result of USD 75,600.00 (€ 63,722.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Carl Robert Holty erzielte im März 2012 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture Including the Collection of Dr. Mark and Irene Kauffman wurde die Arbeit Out of the Sea für USD 5.250,00 (€ 3.937,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carl Robert Holty erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.600,00 (€ 63.722,18).
