In May 2017 VAN HAM held the auction Alte Kunst, which included the work Burg Falkenstein in der Abendsonne by Carl Hilgers. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 3,870.00 29% above the estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carl Hilgers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Skaters on a frozen lake, with a manor beyond in April 2002 with an auction result of EUR 43,020.00.

Im Mai 2017 führte VAN HAM die Auktion Alte Kunst durch, in der auch die Arbeit Burg Falkenstein in der Abendsonne von Carl Hilgers zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 3.870,00 und damit 29% über dem Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carl Hilgers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Skaters on a frozen lake, with a manor beyond im April 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 43.020,00.
