Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
The work The artist’s studio in Cairo (recto); Architectural sketches of the artist’s studio in Cairo (verso) by Carl Haag was worth GBP 20,160.00 (€ 24,074.62) to a buyer in July last year. This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 4,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl Haag - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Dome Of The Rock, Jerusalem, which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 71,250.00 (€ 82,644.89).

Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 bei Christies in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 4.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Carl Haag mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Dome Of The Rock, Jerusalem beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für GBP 71.250,00 (€ 82.644,89) versteigert wurde.
