Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Carel Weight could be acquired at Christies in London in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship auction, the work The Practice of Art changed hands for GBP 7,560.00 (€ 8,893.62) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Carel Weight have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Thames at Hammersmith in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 43,250.00 (€ 53,887.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Carel Weight konnte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship wechselte die Arbeit The Practice of Art für GBP 7.560,00 (€ 8.893,62) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carel Weight auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Thames at Hammersmith im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.250,00 (€ 53.887,60).
