Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Carel Weight achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2021. In the Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale auction, the work For Children: The Witches are Here sold for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 44,427.37) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Carel Weight; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Thames at Hammersmith sold at auction in May 2012 with the realized price of GBP 43,250.00 (€ 53,887.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Carel Weight erzielte im Oktober 2021 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit For Children: The Witches are Here für GBP 37.500,00 (€ 44.427,37) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Carel Weight; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Thames at Hammersmith im Mai 2012 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 43.250,00 (€ 53.887,60).
