Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Claudius Praying by Carel Weight was sold in the The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship auction at Christies in London in May last year. The price achieved of GBP 2,772.00 (€ 3,260.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carel Weight achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Thames at Hammersmith in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 43,250.00 (€ 53,887.60).

Die Arbeit Claudius Praying von Carel Weight wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.772,00 (€ 3.260,99) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carel Weight erzielen.
