In December 2016 Christies in London held the auction Topographical Pictures, which included the work Artefacts collected by Richard Aldworth Oliver on his travels by Captain Richard Aldworth Oliver. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,307.26), 56% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Captain Richard Aldworth Oliver have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sketches in the New Hebrides and New Caledonia in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 32,151.96).

Im Dezember 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Topographical Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Artefacts collected by Richard Aldworth Oliver on his travels von Captain Richard Aldworth Oliver zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.307,26) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Captain Richard Aldworth Oliver auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sketches in the New Hebrides and New Caledonia im Dezember 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 32.151,96).
