Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2003 Christies in London held the auction Maritime, which included the work A paddle steamer in a heavy swell off a fortified rocky outcrop by Haughton Forrest. The price achieved of GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,455.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Haughton Forrest achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Top Sail Schooner And Sailing Yacht in March 2005 with an auction result of AUD 65,725.00 (€ 40,238.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime durch, in der auch die Arbeit A paddle steamer in a heavy swell off a fortified rocky outcrop von Haughton Forrest zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.762,50 (€ 2.455,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Haughton Forrest erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Top Sail Schooner And Sailing Yacht im März 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 65.725,00 (€ 40.238,76).
