This artwork by Cao Youguang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2012. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Spring Delight sold for HKD 187,500.00 (€ 18,591.47) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cao Youguang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape, which sold at auction in April 2015 for HKD 354,000.00 (€ 40,912.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cao Youguang erzielte im November 2012 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Spring Delight für HKD 187.500,00 (€ 18.591,47) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 100.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Cao Youguang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape beobachtet, die im April 2015 für HKD 354.000,00 (€ 40.912,02) versteigert wurde.
