The work Lotus in Splashed ink by Cao Jun was sold in the The Lasting Spring, Fine Modern Chinese Paintings auction at POLY in Poly Auction App in May last year. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,440,000.00 (€ 170,958.90), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Cao Jun have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Unprecedented in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 10,266,000.00 (€ 1,173,388.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Lotus in Splashed ink von Cao Jun wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Lasting Spring, Fine Modern Chinese Paintings bei POLY in Poly Auction App versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 1.440.000,00 (€ 170.958,90) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cao Jun auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Unprecedented im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 10.266.000,00 (€ 1.173.388,61).
