Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Holiday P.T. Ring by Campbell Archibald Mellon was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,403.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Campbell Archibald Mellon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work August Bank Holiday, Gorleston On Sea, which sold at auction in June 2001 for GBP 29,375.00 (€ 48,797.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Holiday P.T. Ring von Campbell Archibald Mellon kam im November 2011 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.403,60) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Campbell Archibald Mellon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit August Bank Holiday, Gorleston On Sea beobachtet, die im Juni 2001 für GBP 29.375,00 (€ 48.797,72) versteigert wurde.
