Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Saint John the Baptist flanked by Saint Barbara and other Saints by Camillo Procaccini was sold in the Old Master and 19th Century Drawings auction at Christies in New York in January 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,755.00 (€ 8,637.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Camillo Procaccini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Buste D'Homme Criant in March 2021 with an auction result of EUR 162,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Saint John the Baptist flanked by Saint Barbara and other Saints von Camillo Procaccini wurde im Januar 2004 in der Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Drawings bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.755,00 (€ 8.637,17) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Camillo Procaccini erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Buste D'Homme Criant im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 162.500,00.
