Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Caio Fonseca was sold in the The Artist’s Eye: The Collection of Tom Levine auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. The price achieved of USD 6,048.00 (€ 4,959.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Caio Fonseca achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tenth Street #80 in March 2017 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 56,085.25).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Caio Fonseca wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion The Artist’s Eye: The Collection of Tom Levine bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.048,00 (€ 4.959,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Caio Fonseca erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tenth Street #80 im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 56.085,25).
