Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2006 Christies in London held the auction Silver and Plate, Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu and Icons, which included the work Mr & Mrs Wynne: she, in black dress and gloves; he, seated leaning on a table; landscape background by Chris Langlois. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 600.00 (€ 865.97), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Chris Langlois have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Ocean no. 11 in August 2003 with an auction result of AUD 9,400.00 (€ 5,553.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion Silver and Plate, Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu and Icons durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mr & Mrs Wynne: she, in black dress and gloves; he, seated leaning on a table; landscape background von Chris Langlois zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 600,00 (€ 865,97) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chris Langlois auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Ocean no. 11 im August 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 9.400,00 (€ 5.553,07).
