Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Late Afternoon 18 x 24 in. framed 24 x 30 in. by Burt Procter was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,020.00 (€ 988.08). Admittedly, works by Burt Procter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cowboy on horseback in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 8,200.00 (€ 7,320.77).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Late Afternoon 18 x 24 in. framed 24 x 30 in. von Burt Procter im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.020,00 (€ 988,08) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Burt Procter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cowboy on horseback im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.200,00 (€ 7.320,77).
