Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
The work By the River by Bui Huu Hung was worth HKD 108,375.00 (€ 11,603.24) to a buyer in April 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art at Bonhams in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Bui Huu Hung; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Golden Afternoon sold at auction in May this year with the realized price of HKD 108,800.00 (€ 13,040.89).

Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Bui Huu Hung; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Golden Afternoon im Mai diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 108.800,00 (€ 13.040,89).
