This artwork by Bridget Riley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June this year. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Blue on Orange and Ochre sold for GBP 201,600.00 (€ 234,627.69) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bridget Riley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Diagonal Curve) in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 4,338,500.00 (€ 5,207,615.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Bridget Riley erzielte im Juni diesen Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Blue on Orange and Ochre für GBP 201.600,00 (€ 234.627,69) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 100.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bridget Riley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Diagonal Curve) im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.338.500,00 (€ 5.207.615,75).
