Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mournes from Dundrum by Brian Ballard was auctioned at Sothebys in London in January 2021. The price achieved of GBP 2,520.00 (€ 2,849.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Brian Ballard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Magnolias in a jug, which sold at auction in May 2004 for GBP 5,019.00 (€ 7,530.35).

Die Arbeit Mournes from Dundrum von Brian Ballard kam im Januar 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.520,00 (€ 2.849,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Brian Ballard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Magnolias in a jug beobachtet, die im Mai 2004 für GBP 5.019,00 (€ 7.530,35) versteigert wurde.
