In April 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work Congolese Seattle by Bodys Isek Kingelez. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 32,500.00 (€ 37,806.89), 63% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Bodys Isek Kingelez; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Pacific Art - 1989 sold at auction in December 2018 with the realized price of EUR 71,500.00.

Im April 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Congolese Seattle von Bodys Isek Kingelez zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 37.806,89) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Bodys Isek Kingelez; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Pacific Art - 1989 im Dezember 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 71.500,00.
